Introduces New Serial Digital Fibre Optic Modem for Transmission of RS422, RS485, RS232 and TTL signals

10th August 2008 - Today PPM announce the release of a newly developed fibre optic link for digital signal transfer.  The ViaLite Serial Digital Fibre Optic Modem provides highly reliable, full duplex transmission of RS422, RS485, RS232 and TTL signals over two single mode optical fibres for distances of up to 20km.

This new modem is suitable for use with the digital signalling of unbalanced ones and zeros and any duty cycle ratios. Data rate options are DC-115kbps, DC-500kbps and DC-10Mbps.  The product is available in all standard ViaLite module form factors including 19” rack mountable modules and small form factor OEM modules, shown below.  The OEM module is designed for equipment manufacturers and systems integrators.
